About Tic-Tac-Toe
Tic-Tac-Toe is the simplest perfect-information strategy game in the world — two players take turns placing X and O on a 3×3 grid, trying to get three in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. HT Hub's version pits you against an unbeatable AI that uses the minimax algorithm with alpha-beta pruning. The AI will never lose. The best you can possibly do is force a draw — and that's the entire point. Tic-Tac-Toe is a game-theory teaching tool more than a competitive game; the challenge isn't beating the AI, it's understanding why an optimal player can never lose, and learning to recognize the patterns yourself. Track your draw rate on the leaderboard (winning is mathematically impossible against the optimal AI). A great way to teach kids about game theory, optimal strategy, and perfect-information games — or just have a quick zen moment.
