Namaste, my desi fam! It's Hardik Trehan, back with another update on my life. Kya haal chaal? I know, I know - it's been a while since my last blog post. But trust me, I've been one busy munda! Specially working on this website!
First off, let me just say that life in Washington State with my beautiful wife Shagun and our two little princesses, Hargun and Shayera, has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. One minute, I'm belting out the latest Bollywood hit in the living room, and the next, I'm chasing after Hargun, who's decided that my mic stand makes the perfect obstacle course. Ah, the joys of parenthood, am I right? 🤦♂️
And let me tell you, having my Mom living just a few blocks away has its perks and its... well, challenges. That woman can cook up a storm in the kitchen, but try getting her to understand the concept of a "Musician in the family"
But you know what they say - behind every successful artist, there's a supportive family. And I'm grateful to have mine, even with all the, shall we say, "creative differences" we may have. 😉
Now, let's talk about the music, shall we? As you all know, I've been coming up with new songs every now and then, and let me tell you, the inspiration just keeps on flowing. Just the other day, I was sitting on the porch, sipping my chai and watching Hargun and Shayera play in the backyard, when suddenly, a melody just popped into my head. Before I knew it, I was back in the studio, fingers flying across the keyboard, channeling all the love and joy I feel when I'm with my family.
And speaking of family, let me tell you about this one time when I decided to go party with my friends as it was a weekend, I had a blast but I came back to find Shagun, Hargun, and Shayera all passed out on the living room floor, surrounded by half-eaten samosas and Bollywood songs playing in the background. It was the most desi scene I've ever witnessed, and I just had to capture it in a song. Let's just say, my next single is going to be a total hit at the next Sangeet party! 💃🕺
But in all seriousness, my family has been the driving force behind my music from the very beginning. Growing up in a household where Bollywood melodies and Punjabi folk songs were the soundtrack of our lives, I just couldn't help but be inspired.
And now, as I sit in my little home studio, surrounded by the sounds of my daughters' laughter and the aroma of my wife's famous chole bhature, I can't help but feel grateful for the journey that's brought me here. Sure, it's not always easy balancing the demands of family life and the hustle of the music industry, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Because at the end of the day, my family is the foundation that keeps me grounded, and their love and support are the fuel that keeps me soaring. So, here's to the chai-sipping, Bollywood-loving, desi-proud Punjabi pop star in me – may the beats keep flowing, the melodies keep inspiring, and the family keep me humble. 🙏☕️🎶
